Make a Difference
Lambda Chi Alpha gives back to the community. The chapter has a variety of community service events each semester such as Main Street clean up and the Welcome Tables. The chapter also sponsors a child through the Christian Children’s Fund. Annually, the chapter raises approximately 2,500 lbs. of food for the Vermillion Food Pantry.
 
Be a Leader
Lambda Chi Alpha helps men become leaders. The chapter has twelve officer positions, which members compete for through elections. Furthermore, the Lambda Chi Alpha General Fraternity holds leadership conferences on a regular basis. The USD chapter has a history of producing great leaders, including three South Dakota Governors, the current South Dakota Governor, a current U.S. Congressmen, and a former U.S. Senator.
 
Grow as a Person
Everyone comes to college to get an education. Through Lambda Chi Alpha members receive a second and very valuable education. The chapter holds a variety of education sessions on a regular basis. These education sessions provide members with basics skill to succeed in a multitude of settings.
 
Make Lifelong Friends
Fraternity is Latin for brotherhood. Within Lambda Chi Alpha, men form life long friendships. Many alumni look back on their experiences in Lambda Chi Alpha as some of the best of their lives. There is no way to truly explain the awesome power of being part of a brotherhood except to experience it for yourself.
 
Have Fun
Lambda Chi Alpha is not all work and no play. The chapter holds many social events throughout the year. The chapter holds two formals a year, one at the end of the fall semester and one at the end of the spring semester. Additionally, the chapter regularly has mixers with the campus's four sororities.
 
Be an Equal
Lambda Chi Alpha has the best pledge program on campus, which is no pledge program. All members of Lambda Chi Alpha are treated as equal. Upon joining the fraternity, members are granted Associate Membership. Associate Members can vote on all chapter matters as well as run for and hold leadership positions.

Pay for School
The USD Lambda Chi Alpha chapter gives away more than $10,000 in scholarships to its members annually. Members are eligible to receive these scholarships within their first year of membership. Many members have saved thousands of dollars off tuition over the course of their time as an undergraduate.
